Tips for designing your contact page
This information is for therapists who are creating or updating their contact page.
A contact page is where visitors are given ways to contact you.
When a someone visits your website contact page it could mean they want to take the next step to hiring you. So it should be easy for them to find the information they need.
It is up to you which contact methods you include on this page, email address is probably the most expected. If you have a work phone number you might also decide to include it.
The simplest way to share your email contact details is to have your email address, typed as text, clearly displayed on the page. This allows visitors to copy and paste your email address if they need to.
You can also hyperlink this text so that when it is clicked, it automatically opens up the user's email and imports your email address for them.
If you choose to have a contact form for visitors to fill in make sure it is working. This includes checking the submit button works and that you receive the form. Make the important boxes in your form, like email address, ‘required’ so that you are able to reply to enquires. Try to keep forms short so that you don’t put off potential clients.
I also recommend including your email address in your website footer so visitors can contact you on every page.
If you have a clinic or therapy room you work from, you may decide to include the address on this page. Remember client confidentiality and your safety are important, if you work in a school or from your home it might be sensible not to make these addresses publicly available on your website.
